Rufus du Sol is an electronic music band, playing lively indie electronic music.  The Sydney born band was born in 2010 after an impromptu jam session in Byron Bay.

Their sound is uplifting and makes an entire room move their bodies. I saw them for the first time in Vancouver in 2016 and was mesmerized by their talent and ability to work the room. The band consists of guitarist Tyrone Lindqvist, keyboardist Jon George, and drummer James Hunt. They are heart throbs with Aussie accents, providing a unique and addictive sound. It was a familiar yet missed feeling to have a crush on all the members of the band on stage. Rufus brought the sun’s energy to us and surprised us all when they covered a Radiohead track that absolutely blew my mind, I will not name the track, so you can be as shocked as I was. Rufus Du Sol will be supported by Cubicolor, another incredible trio, hailing from Amsterdam. I heard their track Climbe and I immediately fell for their unique and euphoric sound. I’ve seen them included in the Anjunadeep showcase lineup and Cubicolor have support from Pete Tong and one of Montreal’s favourite late night king Danny Tenaglia.

 

MTELUS is one of Montreal’s favourite venues because of the size, ambience and sound system. We can always count on Evenko to provide us with amazing shows and booking our favourite artists. If you are in school and coming to the most stressful time of the year, my advice is put on your best dancing shoes, get some extra studying done today, forget about the snow and DANCE! I guarantee you will not be disappointed!
