Montreal has been a special place for many of the artists amongst the All Day I Dream crew. Whether it’s Lee Burridge lighting up SAT, Oona Dahl throwing Newspeak upside down, or YokoO and Matthew Dekay providing deeply inspiring nights at Stereo, it’s clear Montreal has established a beautiful relationship with the influential deep house label. Born from Lee’s enigmatic sets in the early days of Burning Man, All Day I Dream has led the way for emotive and groovy house and techno.

On Friday, April 26th, we welcome one of the most progressive members of the ADID squad to Montreal. Facundo Mohrr has established himself as the most exciting talents to come out of Argentina since Hernan Cattaneo. Since 2008, Facundo has shared the decks with the likes of Sasha & John Digweed, Bedouin, &ME, Mano Le Tough, Ame, Stimming, and Patrice Baumel.

As the go-to tastemaker for the South American deep house scene, it was only a matter of time before Mohrr made the leap to the international circuit. After releases with Henry Saiz’s Natura Sonoris and Kindisch, a close friendship with Lee Burridge developed through the ADID head honcho’s constant support of Mohrr’s productions. Come 2018, Facundo had releases on both All Day I Dream and Lee’s sublabel, Tale & Tone. Naturally, a debut Burning Man set followed in the summer, with Mohrr’s productions being heard across the playa in various sets.

With early influences stemming from his mother’s love of underground music, as well Hernan’s role in establishing an incredible progressive house & techno scene in his native Argentina, Facundo’s productions learn towards the more progressive and energetic end of the ADID sound. Both his original work and track selections during a set stand out for their ability to ignite footwork work on the dancefloor while touching upon the ethnic and melancholic influences that the label is so well known for. His track November is the perfect example, with an undulating tropical melody riding over a thick progressive bassline. A vocal sample from ‘California Soul’ highlights a drop that was a standout moment from Lee’s set at AIM this past summer.

Facundo Mohrr will be making his Canadian debut at Salon Daome in Montreal this Friday, coming off the back of a surprise set at Coachella last weekend, and then continuing on to Toronto for a Saturday show at Parlour. He has a jampacked North American tour with gigs at Lightning in a Bottle Festival (California), Do Not Sit on the Furniture (Miami), Elements Lakewood Festival (Pennsylvania), and will also feature on several of All Day I Dream’s esteemed label showcases.
