Lee Burridge is a Montreal favorite. Period. His infectious energy behind the booth and phenomenal performances across the globe have captivated his audiences for over two decades. His recent appearances in our neck of the woods at AIM festival, StereoBar, and Piknic Electronik have had Montrealers itching for another visit. Now, the All Day I Dream Label Guru is back in town at SAT thanks to the Vision team, bringing you only the best vibes and energy during Canada’s coldest time of year!
In 2011, Lee launched himself and 12 other artists into the spotlight after founding the global phenomenon that is All Day I Dream. Chances are you’ve seen, met (or maybe even partied with) some of these DJ’s and producers. Whether at an event here in Montreal, a rooftop in Brooklyn, or at Burning Man’s Robot Heart, All Day I Dream DJ’s are professionals at turning up the party while spinning music perfectly curated for their label.
And let’s not forget the on-brand, dreamy, reference-filled visual aesthetic which accompanies every one of the label’s events. What we as consumers and listeners live for are the streamers, lanterns, plants, and smiles we see at every All Day I Dream show. If you stopped by AIM festival 2018 on Sunday, you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about.
2018 was another huge year for Lee, having launched a four-date All Day I Dream Ibiza residency, a world tour, and other performances across the globe. He also released his “Elongi EP“; another collaboration between himself, Lost Desert, and Congo-born artist Junior Akwerty. This collection of tracks (my personal favorite being “Float On“) encompasses everything we admire about Lee’s productions; echoing, earthy percussion and ethereal, floating melodies all woven between long melancholic strings. Lest we forget the icing on the cake: Junior’s vocals, which can also be heard in one of Lee’s most popular tracks, “Lingala“.
Anyone who’s familiar with the world of house, techno, and electronica knows that All Day I Dream sound. On New Year’s Eve we were visited by none other than All Day I Dream DJ/Producer Sebastien Leger for a spectacular 3 hour set at Fonderie Darling. More recently, Oona Dahl threw down another incredible, eclectic 2 hour set at Newspeak. With Lee’s show coming right around the corner at SAT, this will truly be the cherry on top of all the sensational All Day I Dream energy!
A special shout out to VJ BunBun, who will be guiding us on the visual journey at SAT. If you were a fan of BunBun and AVX Labs‘ immersive, complex, out-of-this-world visual experience on New Year’s Eve, she’ll be delivering something extraordinary for all the dreamers on February 23rd. With our very own Adam Husa opening the show and BunBun on visuals, what could be better?
After a remarkable New Year’s Eve show featuring their resident DJ’s and Felix Da Housecat, the Vision team has outdone themselves again with this upcoming show. Not only are we getting to experience Lee Burridge at one of Montreal’s finest institutions of art technology, but we have the chance to hear him in a brilliant acoustic space, accompanied by four stacks of some Solotech L-Acoustics subs! It goes without saying there will be no lack of bass at SAT on the 23rd.
There is so much love, passion, and contagious energy around All Day I Dream and any show Lee puts on. Thank you, Vision, for bringing in the high caliber artists we’ve come to expect. Montreal’s response to the Grandfather of All Day I Dream has been off the charts, and we can’t wait to beat the cold, float on, and loose ourselves at SAT on Feb 23rd!
