The summer music season is back. Piknic is in full swing, StereoBar’s doors are open Thursday through Sunday, and artists from far and wide have come to preach the gospel of electronic music to the people of Montreal.
We’re certainly lucky to be visited by countless international DJ’s and artists. However, our locals have a lot planned for us this summer. In March, our local Baham Collective brought together live instruments, visual projections, and digital music for an evening of incredible immersive art. Bringing together artists into their all encompassing project is fitting; after all, “Baham” stands for “together” in Persian.
So, why not kick off this weekend with another soul filling collaboration from local and global talents? This Thursday at StereoBar, Baham is joined by one of electronic music’s best curators of mood, mind, and spirit, Damian Lazarus.
A new multimedia project lead by DJ Duo “The Doctors”, you may have seen the Baham Collective captain the decks at SXM festival, Robot Heart at Burning Man, or perhaps within our hometown temple, Stereo Montreal. Their sound is a consistent, groovy blend of deep, captivating world sounds shaped through the framework of electronic music.
You can get a taste of exactly what their sound entails by listening to their recently released Stereo mix from 2017 (see below). I can attest; it was the perfect opening to what went down as an unforgettable performance by Brooklyn DJ Duo, Bedouin. Their mix includes tracks from Montreal favorites Kora, atish, and Ion Ludwig, and features instruments from across the spectrum of world music.
The Baham Collective has spent the last two years whipping up a whole catalog of productions to be spun at the chapel this Thursday. Joining them after their set is Damian Lazarus, a true sorcerer at the decks, who will be spinning one of his infamous, captivating, tuned-in sets. He’s been headlining and spreading only the best vibrations to globally renowned festivals and clubs for years.
If his recent set at Day Zero in Tulum is any indication, his ability to pick up on the crowd and play a perfectly curated set is nothing short of masterful. We couldn’t ask for a better way to help celebrate 5 years of stereo bar. Hearing the magic and vibe he creates in such an intimate environment isn’t an experience everyone in the world gets to live!
That being said, if you’re looking to see the ultimate collaboration between masters of mood from near and far, get your tickets HERE before they sell out.

Also, a big Happy Birthday to StereoBar. They’ve provided Montrealers and electronic music fans from across the globe one of the best sonic spaces, crowds, and some of the best vibes for the last 5 years. Get ready to have your mind opened and swept away to another dimension. This is gonna be a good one.
I’ll see you on the dance floor x
