Be-At.TV was born out of founder Ray Smith’s desire to bridge the gap between dance music in the US and Europe, as well as bring a little bit (or a whole lot) of Ibiza back with him after a certain memorable trip: “I finally visited Europe for the first time when I was 21 and saw all these great parties happening. Then I went to Ibiza and my head exploded. The most incredible thing for me was all of these amazing parties were happening and almost no one I knew in the U.S. had any idea that these types of events existed. The idea was to create a platform that would allow people like me to experience these events without having to fly half way around the world. So with only an idea and delusions of grandeur, I quit my job, moved to Europe and went on to start BE-AT.TV.” He explains in Magnetic Mag.

We’re honoured to host them in Montreal for the first time ever; to celebrate, we’ve compiled a list of some of our favourite moments over the years.

Be-At.TV Highlight Reel

To keep on your radar : the new Off/BEAT series launched in December 2017, which features innovative musicians and settings. We’re a big fan of the first release, exhibiting a riveting melodic set by Einmusik & Jonaas Saalbach, perched atop the Teufelsberg surveillance station, in Berlin.

Master of his craft and All Day I Dream maestro, Lee Burridge teaches us all a lesson in dreamy house as he closes the curtain of BPM Portugal‘s 2017 edition.

The Be-At.TV cameras follow Anna‘s hard-hitting energy and sound at Warung Beach Club in her native Brazil, with an incredibly responsive crowd embracing the rising DJ’s techno kicks.

The beauty of recording sets is being able to hold on to unique gems such as this one. Seth Troxler and The Martinez Brothers stop time and groove away for three hours in Kappa FuturFestival 2017, dipping their paintbrush into a solid track selection. It’s old school, new school, funky, bouncy, and right here with us.

It’s nearly impossible to select just one out of his 24 sets recorded on the platform, but we do have a weakness for king Solomun‘s extended set in Warung, Brazil.

Some sun-filled beats for your living room, as the enigmatic and dynamic Claptone lights up the Croatian night with rising waves of house music.

Rave with Carl Cox all around the world thanks to the 63 recorded sessions, capturing his unquenchable love for music. This 9 hour set should just about keep you going for the day, as should the many streams of Carl’s curated Resistance Megastructure at Ultra Miami.

Adriatique capture our eyes and ears with this varied, immersive journey of a set, delivered to BPM 2017 for their Diynamic in the Jungle set. Don’t sleep on these absorbing beats.

Satori keep delighting our ears with his organic instrumentation and ethereal downtempo, particularly compelling with the wonderful light show captured at The Gärten in Beirut.

Nina Kraviz feeds a hungry crowd with uncompromisingly hard beats, swinging from acid to trance tones to shattering techno with her usual passionate drive.

Recondite fills the London venue with his soulful minimal techno. Streaming events at Printworks gives visual production lovers the chance to witness these iconic light shows and their industrial backdrop. Other recorded performances here include Maceo Plex, Ellen AllienBen Klock, Nina Kraviz, Adam Beyer

Rising prog-house star Yotto doesn’t disappoint in these lovely two hours streamed from The Soundgarden at Rapture Electronic Music Festival, Miami. On-point production, seamless transitions – it’s all there for your viewing pleasure.

Rebolledo. Pure fun, pure art, pure eclectic taste.

Another stunning Off/BEAT production, this one featuring the talented Red Axes at Castle Ribaucourt in Belgium. Ground and drone footage, as well as visual effects, set the stage for the Israeli’s duo talent to shine through our screens.

Last but not least, our beloved Sasha fills up Dubai with his precise prog, complete with mood dancers and a stunning light show.

The bar is set high, but we can’t think of a better crowd to raise it. See you soon in person and on the stream!
