Brooklyn-based DJ and producer Lauren Ritter is set to take the decks of Velvet this Friday, March 30th. Brought to you by none other than Front Rite and Husa Sounds, Lauren will be gracing us with some on-brand All I Day I Dream goodness to help us thaw out of another unforgiving Montreal winter.

Having taken in heaps of musical knowledge from living in Ibiza and Berlin, Lauren is a current name in the Brooklyn underground scene where she’s signed with Resolute.

Known for her sincere, nostalgia-evoking deep house sets and super chill stage presence, we’re anticipating an evening of alluring bass lines and shimmering percussive elements; all floating atop a foundation of soft, dreamy synths. Her sensible, nostalgia inspired mixing will deliver wildlife and nature-filled imagery to a crowd of Montrealers who are ready to feel the warmth of open air day parties.

To get a better idea of what you’ll be hearing this Friday, check out Lauren’s four EP’s, “Lark”, “Murmur”, “Form Constant”, and “Swoon”, all released under All Day I Dream. These four EP’s show off Lauren’s skills and versatility as a producer; “Lark” leaning toward a more club, progressive house inspired feel, the other three embody her commonly more gentle and deeper sound. “Lauren Ritter spent two bitterly cold winters in New York inside her studio creating musical warmth. Form constant was her first step forward into the electronic music world. Working fastidiously you can trace a subtle musical evolution in each of the four tracks (up to her most recent, Swoon)” -ADID SoundCloud Page.

With Montreal’s own MightyKat opening the night, this cathartic, dreamy evening of lady-led deep house is the perfect precursor to shows later in the weekend, like Joeski at Stereobar on the 31st, or Berlin’s legendary Dixon at Stereo on April 1st.

You still have time to get early bird tickets HERE! I’ll see you on the dancefloor at Velvet!
