What to do for NYE 2018?
NYE is creeping up on us, and as usual, it pops up just when you thought all the holiday chaos is over. All of a sudden, the most important decision-making crisis that comes after what and how much eating you will endure during Christmas will be….WHAT THE EFF AM I DOING FOR New Years Eve.
Here is where I help…
I’ve done my research long and hard, just for you, Montreal, and here is what I got for you… I’ve made a short easy succinct list of the TOP 3 parties to hit this Eve of 2018.
We have in no particular order:
For all you techno heads this is the perfect party for you. Front Rite is throwing a huge warehouse event at none other than Fonderie Darling, a stunning, conveniently placed brick warehouse setting where you will hear trippy tech sounds from Joel Mull: “From trippy, melodic, deep, dub and progressive sounds to psychedelic, dark, hypnotic and powerful Techno”. With an artist coming all the way from Sweden under the Drumcode label, you will be sure to bass your way into the New year. Some local talent includes Alex Pycke, D&D Undfnd & Prml, Or Room, Shades of Blk, S Y L A (OCTOV). To add to this Rockstar list, we also have Diagraf on visuals, so it’ll be a spacey one for sure. I know this will be the place to be, dancing to deep, dark, heart-wrenching techno beats until 2018 slowly rises and surrenders to the beats. Night with Dimensions / Day with Dimensions
A two-part New Year’s party stroking the sounds with very melodic progressive Berlin style vibes, held at Bloc 66. This one’s a community collective run event with a perfect venue-sound combo. Headlining the night we have Bushido b2b Tone Selekt Scotland, syncing perfectly to the rhythms of our very own Montreal DJs, who will be playing some deep varied techno, providing a unique and fun atmosphere! We’ll have Debbie Døe b2b Duchesse, Monokini, Andrés Velilla, Rafa Pineda and visuals done by Albireo. This will be a sultry dark deep melodic entrance to the new year, welcoming it with grace.
On the first day of 2018, Day with Dimensions will transcend you to the new year with some sexy, deep, unmistakable soundscape of Berlin decompressing us the right way: M.Rux followed by a fellow Berliner, Martha van straiten. This is the magical route where the New Year will look and feel like a gift of the past, and the future. I have a wonderful decompression playlist by M.Rux, the perfect mix of chill and serene sounds.

Last but not least, Vision’s NYE at StereoBar and Stereo
We have the likes of Matthew Dekay and Matthias Meyer gracing us with bottomless progressive sounds that will enlighten us into the new year. This 29 hour party with multitudes of talent will prove why Montreal is the place to be for the most anticipated night of the year. Some local talent includes Monitors, Nathan Burns, MightyKat, Nymra & Sofisticated, Green & LaTeez, Julian Prince, Hicky and Kalo and visuals by BUNBUN. Here is a City Fox set by Matthias Meyer, one that I’ve listened to over and over again.
