I am still buzzing from the energy at SOCIÉTÉ DES ARTS TECHNOLOGIQUES (SAT) last Saturday! The colours, the people, and most importantly the music were on the verge of being pure magic.
Hosted by I love Neon in collaboration with the Montreal electronic music community FrontRite, the event was flawless, the venue has now become one of my personal favourites in this wonderful city. The entire atmosphere of SAT screams Artistic creativity, soulful expression, and cosmic party vibes. The pairing of such a renowned label with a venue that doubles up as a hub for digital arts; all that with a hint of some futuristic trance, the crowd was taken higher and higher.
Founded by Above & Beyond and James Grant, Anjunadeep has become one of the most respected imprints. This was clear, the respectful crowd with smiling faces and dance moves that were an extension of the sounds surrounding them; that’s the product of a successful heart-rending event.
Dom Donnelly started the crowd on a beautiful note. Kora killed it with his heavy beats and the crowd paid their utmost respect for this local superstar. Luttrell hyped the crowd with his emotional yet hard-hitting beats, Jody Wisternoff took us on a higher journey with his melodic sounds and who can forget 16 Bit Lolitas and their very well anticipated epic finale! Each set had its own exclusive sound and flawlessly flowed together, the sets fit into one another but also brought out different facets of the label.
With the LED wall separating this rave from the real world, when a break was needed you were yet again surrounded by the art and colours of the SAT. The “real world” from inside that bubble of colour seemed so far away, and I didn’t want to go back! Can’t forget about how visuals and light show brought everything together.
A big thank you to everyone involved, I love Neon in collaboration with FrontRite. All in all, as you can tell by this piece I had a fantastic time, I am looking forward to the next Anjunadeep showcase, the next epic event at SAT, the next event hosted by these two partners, and most importantly the next time I get to dance along all you beauties.
