On Friday August 21st, Nicolas Jaar will be making an appearance at CODA; Toronto’s landmark for underground electronic music, for a DJ set. It is such a big honour to receive such a magical artist in our country.

If you have never heard of him, we encourage you to check out his work. The New York based, American-Chilean artist is behind a number of high-profile projects including ‘Darkside’ –  a duo act consisting of, Nicolas Jaar, & multi-instrumentalist, Dave Harrington. Their live shows combine the use of (among many other things) Ableton (Jaar) and guitar (Harrington), to create a consistently smooth and flowing vibe.

Jaar is also behind an impressive new film score. The film is called, “The Color of Pomegranates,” and is a biography of Sayat-Nova, known as King of Song. The film, with no words spoken, lets the music & sound speak through the images. An incredible piece of work in our opinion and a the latest proof that everything this artist touches turns into gold.

f you love new and mesmerizing sounds that can make you dance make sure you get out to see him play CODA in Toronto this Friday – we can say with near certainty that you’ll come out inspired.

Pre-sale tickets are already sold out, but organizers are holding 300 more for sale at the door. We recommend you get there early to guarantee entry to this highly-anticipated event.

**Local support at the event includes Gera & Night Vision.
